Climate change, urbanization and increasing global population are posing serious threats to our humanity’s water security. Solving the challenges of water resources management is one of the fundamental goals of this generation.

Prof. Jun is interested in quantitative and qualitative analysis of water resources including risk assessments for hazard, which is essential for water resources management. Numerical models have been developed and applied to solve various problems related to the water resources. In particular, his laboratory has developed flood computation model for major Korean rivers, and has very successfully transitioned the model for a wide range of applications.
